Another actor who seems to get over looked sometimes. In my opinion, she should get some more roles playing the "good guy" like in Wayne's World. I also met her at Dragon•Con 2010. Could not believe there was no one getting autographs from her. She was surrounded by lines but no one in front of her, except me. She was nice, personable and engaging. I bet if she could have, she would have given me an autograph for free but there were too many "minders" around her. [btw, off topic, but Robert Beltran, or Commander Chakotay for you Star Trek guys, gave me an autograph picture for free, don't spread that around though]

Tia was born on January 2, 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii as Althea Rae Janairo. She is 5' 8" [1.73 m] tall and is the oldest of three sisters and two half-sisters.

 

Factoids:

• Was offered a role on "Baywatch" (1989) but turned it down so she could audition for Wayne's World (1992).
• Worked as a model and she is a singer. She has an album called "Dream."
• Heritage is "part Chinese, part Spanish, part Filipino." [Ah, a true American. ed.]
• Her little sister could not say "Althea", it came out "Tia."
• Had a body double used in nude hot tub scene in the film Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991).
• As Cassandra in Wayne's World (1992), she performed all her songs as the singer and featured on the soundtrack.
• Was an acting contestant on "Star Search" (1983) in 1985; she lost in her first round.
• Has a recording studio at home.
• Studied acting in the same class with actor Casper Van Dien.
• Cousin of "Maria Antenorcruz".
• She has a daughter, Bianca, born 25 September 2005.
• Her husband, Simon Wakelin, is a British photojournalist. He also wrote her "Mini Biography" on IMdb.
